Norway recognises Palestine as a state, in line with international law and relevant UNSC resolutions.
That means that Norway will consider Palestine to be an independent state with rights and duties this entails.

A two-state solution is the only viable pathway to peace for both Israel and Palestine.

At this critical juncture, our recognition comes in support of the work towards a comprehensive plan for regional peace.

Historic decision in the United Nations General Assembly!

Norway is proud to have co-sponsored a strong resolution strengthening Palestine in the UN & calling on the #UNSC to reconsider the matter of Palestine’s membership.

This is an important milestone towards a two-state solution.

I condemn the recent attack on UNRWA's Headquarters in East Jerusalem.

Targeting aid workers and humanitarian assets is unacceptable, and must stop.

Shocked by attacks on UNRWA 's HQ in East Jerusalem. As host country, Israel has a duty to protect UN personnel & premises at any time.

The  incidents must be investigated, those responsible must be held accountable.

UNRWA is the lifeline for millions of Palestine refugees.

The discussion revolved around finding constructive ways to address common challenges in peace and security in today’s rapidly changing

Over the last two days, Nordic and African Foreign Ministers met in Copenhagen.

We had open and friendly exchanges on global governance, rule of law, cross-regional partnerships, green growth, sustainable food chains and on how to go from aid to trade. Really inspiring! 🌍

We also jointly chaired a session on comprehensive peacebuilding in Africa at the Nordic-African Foreign Ministers meeting in Copenhagen. @Rwandagov

Norway and Namibia enjoy a broad and longstanding friendship.
