This is a nuclear bomb of a story from Aaron Sibarium. Folks, I would not want to be treated by a doctor with a medical degree from UCLA in the future.

This will outrage you: freebeacon.com/campus/a-faile…

With the preface that the new Dunes are good, it's still funny that the 80s one will go down as more memorable all time

I wrote for The American Conservative about why the Conservatives deserve to lose, and to lose hard (even if the country doesn’t deserve Keir Starmer)

The OpenAI/Scarlett Johansson affair is more than just an interesting PR debacle; it's a strangely revealing window into the abnormal sociopsychological worldview Silicon Valley would love to see become humanity's future.

In summer camp 1992, I convinced a group of kids that the second verse of Men At Work's 'Down Under' was about the narrator meeting a pre-fame Jean Claude van Damme while visiting Belgium. 'Everybody knows that,' I lied.

I don't know if Michael Brendan Dougherty is right about political propriety of banning lab-grown meat. But I do know that he is 100% correct - bracingly so - about what the motives and political practice of those who push fake meat, and why you should be extremely wary. nationalreview.com/2024/05/in-def…

It should probably be remarked upon more often how Kenan Thompson has been the only consistently funny thing about Saturday Night Live for years now.

I am convinced this is the most amazing Temptations single that nobody remembers. Such a gloriously summery, breezy sound, and Eddie Kendrick's perfect falsetto. Listen for the hidden organ - it quietly pulls the whole thing together. youtube.com/watch?v=eiVwPg…

Sure, the ChatGPT/Scarlett Johansson debacle is evidence of Silicon Valley's sleaze. But more ominously, it's evidence of how warped many of AI's leading apostles social perceptions (and thus their visions for humanity) are.

ICYMI from yesterday afternoon: John Fetterman is right (again), the House is pathetic reality TV show circus tent that ought to be folded up and sent home.

My most recent for National Review, more coming soon.

1.) I clearly live in the best part of Chicago, because I haven't seen one damn cicada yet.

2.) Mixing cicada with Malort is both a fake viral publicity stunt (nobody would drink that - nobody would drink Malort, after all) as well as an apt metaphor for life in Chicago in 2024.
