And what's so shocking about this devastating trend for rivers and lakes is its alarming speed, hastened by warmer winters, sporadic rains and declining snows. Not to mention springs like this one, in which parts of northern Greece recorded temperatures above 30C today, in April.

This is what North Atlantic sea surface temperatures look like if we don't highlight 2023.

And why should we highlight 2023, when 2024 is so much worse?

Why are these extreme April temperatures in Europe hardly being reported at all?

If - as is very likely - temperatures stay at similarly extremely high levels above what used to be normal, we'll be looking at a lot of people dying in Europe this summer.

Robert Jenrick The Telegraph Why are you uncomfortable with the status quo, 'honest Bob?' After all, you and your buddies created it: child hunger, crumbling infrastructure, corruption in public life, 100-mile long waiting lists, shit-stained rivers and all.

Take a bow.

BBC:

Don't worry about the climate crisis, peasants, what's MUCH more important is Angela Rayner's council house, the titian-haired hussey!

That's right, look over here! Over here!

We’re looking at the first β€˜year without harvest’ on my farm, with only c.10-15% currently cropped & surviving, but very low quality after winter.

Heavy 🌧️ again today. Extreme weather overcoming decades of investment in healthier soils. A real crisis point & wake up call.

The reactions to Angela Rayner are extraordinary, and very telling.

The faintly pervy/misogyny-tinged Tory hysteria at a working-class woman who is also a confident and astute political operator.

They really do not know what to do with her, do they?

Due to the idiocy of the UK government's flood compensation policy, this farm in Lincolnshire - which has been under water for 6 months - is NOT eligible for flood compensation
