If you were given a choice between taking medications 💊 💊 or changing your diet 🥩 🥗 and lifestyle 🏋🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️ to treat a chronic disease, which would you choose?

You were also told that pills mask but won’t fix the disease, however diet and lifestyle changes would.

Nothing makes me more angry with the healthcare system than seeing patients with type 2 diabetes on several medications.

Doctors all agree that polypharmacy is bad, yet nobody seems to stop medications before major problems happen. On the contrary, more pills get added with little concern.

With some dietary tweaks, one of my recent patients is already off 6 out of 10 medications within 2 weeks.

Fixating on calories to lose weight without addressing the hormonal effects of those calories on hunger, satiety and fat storage often leads to failure without extreme willpower and effort.

Caloric deficit or excess is the consequence, not the cause, of hormonal effects.

Carbohydrates, particularly sugar and grains, are fattening and inflammatory for many. I see it every day. Carb + fat combination accelerates weight gain significantly.

I’ve never met a person who became obese on a low-carb, high-fat (LCHF) diet. However, I met plenty who did on…
