We just passed the Education budget to supports districts as they implement the historic investments of last year, including:

🖍️Adding 5,200 PreK seats, bringing MN 12,360 seats statewide
👩‍🏫 A pilot program for student teacher pay

While other states are banning books and restricting freedoms, Minnesota is writing a different story.
 
Today, we signed a bill into law putting an end to book bans based on ideology in Minnesota – because censorship has no place in our democracy.

Proud our Ed Finance team & work they did to invest more $ on the Read Act ($66M directly to schools), gets more teachers into our schools, keeps more students in our classrooms, & brings more student voice to the table! Thank you to those who voted yes to invest in our schools.

Censorship has no place in our libraries. As a former teacher, I’m clear: We need to remember our history, not erase it.
