This explains a lot:

In the 1950s, British steam locomotive drivers weren’t given formal training. Knowledge was just handed down.

French train drivers were given bonuses for using less coal and for making up time, so generally knew how to
operate trains more efficiently.

99.86% of our Solar System's mass is in the Sun.

Its mass is approximately 1,988,550,000,000,000,000,000 billion kg, which is equivalent to about 330,000 Earths.

Most of the Sun’s mass is hydrogen (about 73%) and helium (roughly 25%). The rest is made up of heavier elements…

From a friend:
A British Gas engineer is at our home today for an annual check up.
Should we get a heat pump at some point when this stops working?
“No, you don’t want to do that. Get one of the new Worcesters, they’re hydrogen compatible.”

Greenwash continues.

A reminder of the catastrophic harm done by Brexit to the UK EV and battery industry 👇

Brexit has now chased away the two most important car manufacturers in the world: Tesla to Germany, and BYD to Hungary.

Every time a Labour politician posts about the economy without admitting Brexit has been a disaster for the large majority of goods and services export businesses, I feel angered and gaslit. When will they come clean and end the complicity?

2024 - a big year for heat pumps in the UK.

This week, HMG pumped up the subsidy budget for them by £1.5 bn. In April gas boiler makers face penalties for not selling enough of them.

But the @telegraph says there maybe a major Tory heat pump rebellion.

The Financial Times on the future of the combustion engine
(some small contributions by me).

Interestingly even skeptics are arguing timelines and no longer maintain that combustion engines are the future.

I'm think EU, US & Asia will >95% buy EVs by 2030 btw.

My article with @Kevinclimate on why the new UK strategy is scam designed to prop up North Sea gas, under the pretence of climate action.
It'll impose a huge cost on UK taxpayers and lock us into a high emissions pathway. Key points 🧵📣
