The analysis from the EPA Ireland today shows that even with additional measure we are predicted to hit a 26% reduction in transport emissions - not the 50% set out in the carbon budgets. Also it is not certain we will even reach the targets of the additional measures.

“The voices of caution were wrong then, and they are wrong now”

- Billy Hann

When the car park lobbies and business groups are giving out about transport changes… then you usually know we’re going in the right direction

We’d love to know how the Houses of Oireachtas Commission’s commitment to Sustainability and reducing emissions aligns with their objection to public/active transport priority in the City Centre

Bus services can’t react to interruptions to rail, they don’t have standby staff to mobilise extra service short notice

It’s something we really need to get back too, the bus is the backbone of transit in Dublin and commuters need it to fill the gaps

Like many students, James Casserly can't wait to get his Leaving Cert over with. James has been studying the Leaving Cert Applied programme, which prepares students for working life. The disability campaigner told us how he hopes to turn his passion for travel into a career.

One of the key issues being raised at the Sustainable Mobility Forum is that we need to move faster and implement Transport change now, because Climate Change isn’t going to wait

Perfectly summarised by members of the Youth Panel!

Poor design is one of the key issues that stop people moving to active transport

If our roads aren’t safe for cycling, the general public won’t use them

Minister Eamon Ryan has just launched the new Sustainable Mobility Academy, a new learning platform for academics, activists, organisations, and community groups to share knowledge and learn from each other

The sentiment expressed here applies 💯% to public transport and active travel.

The more that out public spaces and services are designed for those with the most needs, the more everyone benefits.

Don’t forget the Europa League final is on at the Aviva this evening

Match attendees have free travel for the day, so there’s likely to be extra demand on public transport

Let’s hope nobody drives into a bridge or rail crossing!

Ibec's call to pause on a project after not making a submission to the official consultation (3.6k submissions) despite Dublin City Council doing a special webinar for their members is hugely disingenuous. Surely 1st Q from media should have been to see their submission?

DART+ Coastal North has passed an important hurdle today, receiving Cabinet approval to enter the planning phase

We’re still a few years away from Ministerial Sod-Turning events, but we’re eagerly awaiting the Consultation stage in the meantime!!

Absolutely agree with this statement. The only way to make Dublin City public transport run efficiently is to reduce the dominance of private cars. Dublin Bus has stated this, and to most reasonable people, it's glaringly obvious.

Every day, the Commuters in Dublin City Centre are stood at stops watching packed services go by, or sat on buses & trams, delayed by cars backing up bus lanes

We’re not sure what Buses, Conor and Keith get into Dublin each day… but they’re not the same ones we’re on

IBEC entering the debate at this point, after the consultations and debates in the Council have concluded to undermine decisions taken is outrageous & an insult to local government. These kind of bad faith interventions should not be entertained at all 😡 rte.ie/news/business/…
