Dr. Schalk is the author of 'Black Disability Politics', an important and excellent book. Consider ordering it or requesting that your university or public library acquire it.

I’m not going to repost the videos, but know that UNC-Chapel Hill the chancellor escorted cops to the flagpole (for a desperate photo op) where they roughed up students, called them slurs, raised the US flag, and one of them spit on the Palestinian flag repeatedly.

.@uwmadison Professor Samer Alatout is back at the protest. He said he was detained and cited and police inflicted the gash on his head. He said police are “singling out” people of color.

“I saw the police pointing at me and saying ‘we want him,’” Alatout told me.

April 30. On this day 1968, it is the 56th anniversary of the occupation of hamilton hall and other buildings. These images are lionized on columbia’s website.

Universities, like Columbia, must ask themselves, “under what conditions would they permit the police to kill one of its students or one of its faculty members.

Is Columbia willing to have police kill one of its students today? That is the gamble they’re taking.

TO RESPOND TO STUDENTS WHO ARE DEMANDING THAT COLUMBIA STOP INVESTING IN WEAPONS MANUFACTURING COMPANIES. WHO DO THEY SERVE? WHO DO THEY PROTECT? CAPITALISTS AND COLONIZERS

insane that columbia has locked down campus to everyone. no research, no books, no labs. no libraries, no medical services appointments, no studio or practice space. no lectures, no concerts. just the pure administrative university and its disciplinary power.

Sending the state police in the quiet early morning to terrorize peaceful students after a senate mtg the night b4 in which Dr. Radenka Maric says safety is her goal is shameful. @uconn has betrayed students and faculty.

as you all may remember, the state of Virginia did not deploy cops like this to UVA/Charlottesville when there were Nazis on campus
