I’m a trained GP, but I can’t get a job : the absurd new crisis
This isn’t how ARRS was intended, Billy Palmer, Nuffield Trust
It should not come at the expense of qualified GPs
NHSE commissioners of GP services need to check this being upheld

£55 for a Private GP video call - GMC registered

NHSE pays just £165pp for all your GP services for a year
Average number of appts is 7 with 5 being Face to Face

£35 less in real terms since 2016

Govt/NHSE don’t want you to see a NHS GP by funding alternative roles but not GPs

Pharmacy First aims ‘to free up 10million GP appts’

If similar funding had been provided to GP practices, they could provide double that number

Simple stuff isn’t always simple

Pharmacists not trained to look in ears

GPs 20% £/patient funding cut

30 milllion appts a month occur in GP Practices - half the population

Yet no one in any positions of power or decision makers are listening to GPs

NHS England board have cut GP funding by 20% £/patient in 8 years

Instead they fund roles other than GPs that cost more £/appt

The failure of Govt & NHS England is a failure to understand primary care

This failure stems from lack of knowledge & representation of Patients, GPs & Nurses

Half the population a month consult GP practices

There are solutions, prevention, education, wellbeing, joint up care

🐼 Parody RCGP (not a doctor) ‘Partners robbing the NHS and off to the golf course’ 🤔

Providing 20% more appts with 20% less money

Whilst having personal income cut by 1/3

Partners 🤯🤬🤷🏻‍♂️

Stolen from a fantastic account that is locked...

1. It's disappointing that people have this wholly wrong view (disappointing but not surprising, because it's easier than looking at their own flaws)
2. It had people liking it rather than it getting a flurry of down votes.

Pharmacy First should have been an additional service whilst funding GP practices to provide more
Although Pharmacies need extra funding this fails to be a joined up approach to patient care
Robbing one service to pay another
£600m Pharmacy 1st, £1.4bn ARRS, with a cut GP £2bn

Dear 🇬🇧,

After 190 years, the British people are no longer buying what the Conservatives are selling. With more historic defeats on the horizon, the Great Tory Civil War and their party will soon be history. They’ll call it a catastrophe. We’ll call it justice.

GPs see 90% of first medical contacts and deal with 80% of medical problems. You would think that they would get 50% of NHS budget? or even 30%? They get 6%! 6%!

Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) was introduced in 2019 as a key part of Govt manifesto commitment to improve access to general practice. PCNs can claim reimbursement for the salaries of 17 new roles

GP practices have help but not extra GPs or funding for practices
