Newcastle borough council will write to the government, seeking permission to pursue legal action against Walleys Quarry.

A waste transfer site run by the operators of the notorious Walleys Quarry landfill accepted waste not listed on its permit in 2022, including materials “unsuitable for consumption or processing”.

Great work Staffordshire County Council and Amey. Reported partial obstruction of the A34 at 08:00, and sorted by midday.

Environment Health officers Newcastle-u-Lyme BC are preparing legal action after they confirmed a breach of the Abatement Notice by Walleys Quarry Landfill. Hopefully another step toward closure and permanent caping off of the stinking landfill.
