Calving finished (a success), SAF forms in, just about finished sowing. A new one to me but the weight has not slipped off the shoulders and that sense of relief has not arrived. Maybe a delayed reaction. As James Rebanks put it, it is not all about sitting on a tractor.

Weighed yearlings. Avg wght 362kgs, out wintered on deferred grass, no hard feed and no more than 10 kg FW day of silage or hay. Last year all inside for most of winter, weighed at 370 kg. barley 1kg/day + 15 kg silage / day. Slight damage to grass fields this winter but....

End in sight for calving. 36 heifers outside all winter, by themselves this year. Last year had them in with 2nd calvers and heifers were too fat at calving while 2nd calvers about right condition. One or 2 pure AA, but rest crosses. Lots to be said for #hybridvigour
