What strikes me as interesting, is the argument that changing a landmark's name somehow takes away history and is cancelling something else.
Why didn't YEG lose it's shit when Capilano FWY was changed to Wayne Gretzky Drive and part of St. Albert Trail to Messier Drive?🤔

Oh, and for anyone who doesn't recognize the word Capilano,
please look up Joe Capilano
(Squamish originally spelled kia'palano). No problem removing this name from YEG landmarks and replacing with a hockey player.
