Last week, SCOTUS’ conservative majority left little doubt about their intentions to move our legal landscape further and further to the right.

And their rulings are just the beginning. It's time to reform the court before it’s too late.

'...Moore v. Harper could concentrate an unprecedented amount of power in gerrymandered state legislatures, should alarm anyone who cares about democracy.' — Ian Millhiser

SCOTUS striking down Roe means that state legislatures are now the front lines for protecting access to reproductive health - which is why we’re working to protect Democratic majorities and make gains in GOP-controlled legislatures this November. bit.ly/3y0A9iI

A dangerous legal theory has made its way to SCOTUS - and it’s possibly the gravest threat to our democracy since Jan. 6.

If Republicans succeed, they could wipe out years of precedent and anti-democratic legislation to a degree we have never seen before.

This term, SCOTUS took away abortion rights and gave women's reproductive choices to state legislatures - many of which are gerrymandered and don't reflect the people.

With Moore v Harper next term, they could do the same with our federal elections. It's that serious.

Fueled by the Big Lie, GOP-led state legislatures across the country have introduced hundreds of restrictive voting bills since 2020.

We’re investing in critical races to help elect leaders who will put the Constitution over a political party.

Gerrymandering poses one of the biggest threats to our & ongoing fight to deliver popular policies to improve the lives of all Texans (healthcare, repro freedom, gun safety, etc). Real change comes from the voter's right to cast ballots in fair districts.

Supreme Court decisions simply cannot be a function of who serves on the Court and their ideological preferences. Adherence to precedent, justice, fairness, consistent interpretation of the Constitution, the reliance of the American people on Court decisions-must be the guides.

We can, and must, ask EVERY candidate at EVERY level this year where they stand on protecting reproductive rights and reforming our gun laws. An involved American people can always bring about big change and make what seems hopeless better. We’ve done it before. We can do it now.

For decades, SCOTUS has chipped away vital components of the Voting Rights Act, and - if last week’s controversial rulings are any indicator - the time to protect voting rights is now.

The outcome of gubernatorial races in these 13 states could determine whether we have map manipulators or pro-democracy governors in office for the coming years.

The stakes are too high to stand by the sidelines - so we’re continuing our fight.

Republican gerrymandering has had dire consequences on our democracy. Gerrymandering prevents public support for issues like abortion access and gun control from becoming policy. We HAVE to pass democracy reform legislation that bans gerrymandering at the federal AND state level.

The end of Roe v. Wade shifted the abortion fight to state legislatures, where gerrymandering has given Republicans an advantage. As abortion becomes illegal in half of the country, democratic self-governance may be nearly out of reach for some voters. nyti.ms/3njsx4U
