Mick C Matosis πŸ‘πŸͺ™πŸ’· Home Office Even in the EEC, which we voted to join, we had a say at every stage, a vote in every rule and law, and a veto on things we didn't like. We had representatives at every level, including presidential

The CPTPP.. we don't

Don Rockell. 48% were not wrong Home Office And CPTPP, so what? It's a trade agreement? Disagree, use sanctions, use tariffs, use whatever is needed to ensure the best. It's in nobody's interest trade agreements fail so why do we need a parliament and army to police it?

Mick C Matosis πŸ‘πŸͺ™πŸ’· Home Office It's as much a trade block as the EU is

But hay ho we now belong to a Trade block that we take orders from, have no say in how its run, had no say in joining and must comply with all its rules and standards

Unlike the EU where the UK made a lot of those rules and standards

Don Rockell. 48% were not wrong Home Office And that's my problem why? It's not only letters you have problem with it's numbers too, how much does CPTPP cost us to be part of every year? Take a wild guess, or refer to your resurch

Mick C Matosis πŸ‘πŸͺ™πŸ’· Home Office Well, not being in the EU is costing Β£40bln a year

But as being in the CPTPP won't be making any difference to our economy dispight the UK being in effect a vastel state to the CPTPP, following their rules but having no say .. it could be very costly

Mick C Matosis πŸ‘πŸͺ™πŸ’· Home Office Lost EU trade is Β£100bln a year and rising
Tax on that trade is Β£40bln & equates to 4% of the UKs GDP

The CPTPP is worth maybe 0.08% after 10 years to the UK

The CPTPP standards are different from the EUs, so we need to manufacture to 2 different standards as well, which costs
