The cloister of Santa Chiara, #Napoli, where in mid-afternoon on 9/11/01, I heard the horrendous news from six time zones away, lower Manhattan. Years later, I couldn't make my memoir work (thanks, Guernica Editions), without the story.

Today I faced one of those awful retrofitting jobs, when the novel needs something from like .7 along worked in back at about .3, only a half-dozen lines lines perhaps but it belongs earlier, & then both that chunk & everything to either side needs refurbishing. Did I manage? Eh.
