Just a note to the men (it's always men) who, having kept their heads safely down throughout the whole business, are now emerging from their foxholes in the wake of the Cass report to wag their fingers reprovingly at women (it's always women) for being part of a 'toxic debate'.

Measures such as these always remind me of that quotation from Anatole France: 'The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread.'
