Y’all are making your portfolios way too difficult.

It’s simple:

1. Short, clear 4-6 word headline on what your focus.

2. Show work immediately.

3. Have contact CTA right there in their face.

4. Say you’re available.

All of this with 0 scrolls. It’s not rocket science.

Talk however you like about using grids, auto-layouts, naming layers, the color purple, and whatever else you have issues with on design, but you keep Inter out of your mouth.

Inter is king.

Beautiful portfolio design. Why?

✅ Clear headline/CTA lockup
✅ Teases continuation (stop missing this)
✅ Social proof at first glance
✅ Doesn't hide work as much others
✅ Simple and scannable

You can give up.

However, then you have to live with never knowing what could have happened if you didn’t fully, truly give it your all first.

Over night successes required years, decades sometimes, of showing up, not giving up.

First it was HYTOPIA with the epic come back.

Now it’s Wolf Game.

If you’re paying attention, you’re witnessing one of the greatest comeback stories in gaming/crypto right now with Wolf Game and $bWool — and it’s still so early.

Three bold Blast predictions that don’t feel particularly bold, but are lying in front of you in plain sight.

🐺 Wolf Game sees a top 3 Gold distribution in the near future.
🐺 Wolf Game becomes the #1 game on Blast.
🐺 Wolf Game hits at least 1 Jackpot.

Probably the biggest thing happening right now is Wolf Game moving to Blast and every one of you needs to go claim a free Sheep so you can play Cave Game and earn.

Bonus: get bWool and add to your jackpot on Blast. We’re coming for the gold!

It’s ok if you don’t work this weekend.

But it’s also ok if you do.

All that matters is that you’re doing what matters to you and your situation.

Don’t worship hustle culture but get after it when the timing is right for you and your life.

Rest when it’s not.

A reason you’re not making more money as a freelancer is because you’re not flexible with your pricing.

Learn the art of accepting money when it’s offered and not being greedy bc you misread a post about confidence.

Stop letting others gate-keep you from succeeding.

DANN© Dann, after taking one of your courses I started charging weekly with some projects. I love this method because it allows scope flexibility (vs fixed fee) and I don't waste time tracking minutes (vs hourly). Often times I ended up earning more too.

If you charge hourly, you're likely a liar.

You're going to lie to yourself or to the client at some point, if not everyday.

You're either going to round up or round down. Sometimes very drastically.

You likely tack on an hour here. An hour there.

You likely won't charge for

Hosting events as an individual is a roller coaster.

You have to rely on so many people and outside funding—making many things out of your control.

It’s fun when it works. Millions of dollars went through Epicurrence. But the foundation is so fragile.

A cheat code to making better designs is knowing how to make another new frame/art board/canvas.

Few understand this.

For the record (and should be obvious) anytime I mention the greatness of portfolio platforms and design communities there it was ONLY from:

Behance: 2008 - 2014
Dribbble: 2012 - 2017/18

Anytime after this is/was NOT good (or as good) and NOT something that needs to be

First Behance gave us a home, then Dribbble.

Then both forgot about us.

We need a home *just* for us.

It’s not:
❌ here
❌ Dribbble clones
❌ Read CV

Is it going to be:
🤔 Layers?
🤔 Contra 2.0?
🤔 Back to Dribbble with new CEO?

Or are design portfolio communities over?
