Congratulations to the St. Francis College class of 2024!

These graduates have such bright futures ahead.

I'm so proud of all these young adults, many of whom are NYC Public Schools alumni!

This morning, I had the pleasure of visiting P.S. 191 Paul Robeson, the school where I used to serve as Assistant Principal!

It was wonderful to reunite with the school community, and I’m proud to see our students continue to flourish.

The best way to combat antisemitism and other forms of hate is by teaching.

That’s what we're doing at New York City Public Schools in order to raise the consciousness of our young people.

In this challenging time, we hope New York City can be a candle in the darkness.

Leaders don't run away from problems—we lean in to better understand them, so we can solve them.

I want to thank House Committee on Education & the Workforce and Chair Aaron Bean for convening a hearing on how to combat antisemitism.

This is incredibly important work, and it is only possible if people from all walks of life are willing and able to come together for the greater good.

Let me be clear: when incidents happen we address them with safety, engagement, and education.

That was my message to Congress and that is the work we do every day.

This is a major time in our country right now. Children are suffering all over the globe.

I am focused on taking care of the children of our city, children of dozens of faiths and backgrounds.

We have to see the humanity in each other. We have to meet the moment.
