as a semi-professional artist visiting the Turner prize, I offer my semi-professional opinion:

3 out of 4 were surprisingly terrible. Genuinely amazed this work could get this far. Dull, unoriginal, badly conceived and weakly executed.

The Windrush one was very good.

something interesting about video games is that you go into them understanding that there are difficulty levels. that mindset is valuable imo, and while i wouldn’t want that framework to be true for music, i wish more people embraced the notion of being challenged by art.

strange, interesting writers, who struggle to get their voices out there.

Introverted, obscure experts in any and all subjects.

Reading a new book on contemporary composition that describes a novel technique that is almost exactly the same as my process for a piece I wrote almost 13 years ago. Given I have a PhD in composition maybe I should write a book?
