In March alone, World Food Programme has bought 520 tons of food (pic below: local sorghum) from Haitian producers. This is enough to feed more than 160k schoolchildren.

-23k displaced people with a hot meal in Port-au-Prince
-179k children with a school lunch
-3k people in Le Cap and Gonaïves with a cash transfer.

Livraison de 23 tonnes de pitimil- sorgho en provenance du département du Nord-Est à l’entrepôt du WFP Haiti (PAM) 🕊️ au Cap-Haitien.

Ce produit local est en cours de distribution dans les cantines scolaires du Grand Nord.

Ce matin, dans cette centrale d’achat de Hinche, une vingtaine de producteurs agricoles ont apporté leurs choux, épinards, aubergines, patates, gombo. 🥬🍠🥕

Avec le soutien de WFP Haiti (PAM) 🕊️ ces produits frais seront servis cette semaine aux enfants dans les écoles de la zone.

Our Haitian partners cook meals in 4 central kitchens in safer areas (blue). The meals are brought to sites (yellow) where displaced people live.

Since January we’ve brought 500k meals to 53 sites.

This Sunday World Food Programme provided 24k hot meals to people who have fled their homes in Port-au-Prince, #Haiti 🇭🇹.

We use insulated boxes to ensure meals stay piping hot until their delivery.
