Folks, the conversation about grades isn't all or nothing! We HAVE other ways of thinking about human motivation and, understanding them, why not build school/classroom systems to support competence, autonomy, AND relatedness?

Justin Baeder, PhD 'Because the problem exists, the problem can only continue to exist.' Rewards and consequences can and do exist outside of grades to accomplish the ends that you intend for grades to accomplish. Learning can and does exist outside of rewards and consequences from adults to kids.
