Preventing domestic homicide and suicide should be a national priority.

I recently published reports by Manchester Metropolitan Uni researchers into the recommendations from domestic homicide reviews.

It has been 1 year since the Wade Review was published.

The report made recommendations to address concerns about gendered disparities in sentencing and more broadly in the criminal justice system.

1 year on I am still calling for all the recommendations to be implemented⬇️

Great to see Respect launch this survey to understand people's perception of child and adolescent to parent violence and abuse (CAPVA).

The survey is open to anyone in the UK aged 13+ but they are particularly keen to reach adults & young people who have experience of CAPVA⬇️

New Victims' Commissioner for England & Wales research shows the importance of victim advocacy.

Many survivors are given lifesaving support by domestic abuse advocates (IDVAs) as part of wider help from DA services.

That's why I'm calling for the #VictimsBill to protect these critical community services.

Much more is needed to give migrant victims of domestic abuse the support they need in this country.

Gov must provide all migrant victims with access to specialist DA support and a route to regularise their status.

It is concerning that so many children in the Family Court are not being consulted on decisions about their future.

Gov has accepted recommendations from my office to enhance the voice of the child in Family Court proceedings. Now is the time for these plans to become a reality.

This National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) research shines a light on the links between suicide and domestic abuse.

Abusers must be held to account for their role in suicides.

And every agency must understand the role they play in preventing these deaths.

A police abuse hotline, announced today, is a start. But complaints must be properly dealt with.

We need a more consistent approach across forces and changes to the criminal justice bill to equip forces to eradicate police perpetrators.
