Watched lots of 🏀 this weekend

Quick Observations:

1) 90% of kids do not LOVE playing the game

2) Most kids do not NEED to be playing AAU club 🏀, they need to train

3) Parents, just cheer on your athlete, it’s not about u, stop yelling at everyone + coaching from the stands

If your 6th grade AAU team wins every championship EVERY weekend, you’re playing on the wrong team.

Never stop trying to be a good person, the world needs as many good people as possible!

Check in on the people in your life who are basketball fans. What they are being forced to watch during every single timeout during the playoffs is truly traumatizing and something we would have all considered unthinkable even a year ago.

I have no issues with holdbacks.
Each family and athlete can do what they feel is best for them.

But if you’re 15, please play 15u.
If you’re 16, please play 16u.

If you’re a holdback and not 14 anymore, why are you playing 14u + then expecting to play varsity next year? 🤔

Stop judging how you play by how many points you score.

You should judge how you played by your effort.

Players:

One of the things coaches enjoy about coaching is when you come back to practice/say hello. Make it a point when you’re around to come say hi 👋 to your coach.

Just because you watch sports, doesn’t mean you can coach sports.

Freshman: “Coach I’m trying to get recruited”

Unless you’re top 1% as a freshman…Unfortunately freshman aren’t getting recruited as much as coaches are looking for older players out of the portal and HS Jrs or Seniors.

***Freshman, enjoy your year & focus on getting better.

So if the basketball is out of the shooters hands you can club a guy in the face and it’s not a foul?? 🏀
