Since 2014, we've been experimenting with low energy use storage.

In January 2024, we intensified our efforts - and turned the air conditioning off!

In the short term, we're using dehumidifiers to moderate relative humidity in the strongrooms.

We're a research facility, and aim to make as many archives as possible open to study (even if they once were 'top secret'!) ARA Scotland
