So grateful this morning to receive the Connecticut Democratic Party’s endorsement for U.S. Senate.

I promise to fight like hell for our state and what I believe in, and to keep trying to find common ground when possible.

Scotland, CT has 1500 people and 6 zip codes. So dumb. It has real world consequences. Voter registration is messed up. Packages get delayed. Tons of mail becomes undeliverable.

Rep. Joe Courtney and I were there today to announce legislation to give Scotland one zip code.

A really powerful conversation yesterday at Harriot Home Health in Hartford about the cost of gun violence we don’t talk about enough - those who were shot and survived, but have injures that change their life.

If we passed the 2022 gun bill and gun murders went up 20% everyone would have said it didn’t work.

But we passed a bill that addresses nearly every cause of gun violence and gun murders immediately dropped 20% and it’s like “hey correlation not causation!”

This is 💯 correct.

Gosh I am going to miss Margaret Miner. She was one of Connecticut’s most effective environmentalists. She was kind, decent, and original. She was deeply politically savvy - for 18 years one of my most important allies. She lived a big, generous life. Rest in peace, Margaret.

I visited Job Corps in Hartford today - I’m preparing to introduce legislation to modernize Job Corps programming and I wanted to talk to the students and instructors about what they need. This is one of the biggest federally funded youth training programs in the nation.
