The clear winner of yesterday's Catalan elections is the socialist party PSC. Pedro Sanchez's party. His appeasing approach in recent years appears to be working for the party. So far. However, the socialists are short of a majority. The horse trading begins. As always.

Voting now closed. PSC party (socialists) are in the lead with 27,1% followed by Junts party (Puigemont independence) with 22,1%.

Junts, ERC & CUP parties could form a coalition government.
