A quick peep into St Adeline’s Little Sodbury before heading up to Little Sodbury Manor for tonight’s VCH Gloucestershire fundraiser #Gloucestershire #church #church architecture #williamtyndall
So far this year, working for Victoria County History has involved getting very wet in an ‘atmospheric’ #Westmorland , getting very cold on an unseasonably cold spring day in #Wiltshire & (tonight) putting on my red lipstick, high heels & sipping drinks in a #Gloucestershire manor 🤷🏻♀️
More photos from yesterday's test walk along the Wallingford to Pangbourne section of the #FrideswideWay 👣
It was great to see our recently retired editor Dr John Chandler awarded a VCH red badge yesterday, acknowledging his many outstanding contributions over the last two decades for both VCH Gloucestershire and Wiltshire History - VCH (not to mention his generous support to colleagues everywhere).
English degrees are great. They are really good fun, develop your critical abilities, research skills, creativity, confidence, self-reliance, knowledge, and cultural capital. Also, they can give you all this. #EnglishCreates English Association University English

The best day of my work year - always so special to be able to join with colleagues and friends from around the country. The Victoria County History community is one of the things that makes Institute of Historical Research special.
So much excellent and fascinating work under way, and so much more to come!
It was wonderful to be at my 2nd #VCHDay yesterday. It marked a year of me being part of the Victoria County History Centre for the History of People Place & Community & Institute of Historical Research team! It’s a massive privilege to be part of all these communities & as ever I learnt a huge amount yesterday from all our amazing VCH contributors
A brilliant day with generous, collaborative and expert colleagues from across England, as well as our own wonderful Centre for the History of People Place & Community team. A huge privilege and joy to be Director of this amazing project - now in its 125th year. 🎉🎉 #VCH Victoria County History School of Advanced Study, University of London
Here briefly yesterday. So gorgeous I could have spent the day there rather than go on to Victoria County History Day. But I am glad I did as I had lots of fun there too with VCH colleagues from across the country.
We are doing such amazing work and the central office team are so fab. 😁
Huge congratulations to Amara Thornton Dr Amara Thornton, and John Chandler of Wiltshire History - VCH VCH Gloucestershire - 2024 recipients of the #VCH Outstanding Contribution Award (wearing their new badges proudly). 1/2
