.@royalhistsoc has written to managers University of Lincoln, UK to protest proposed redundancies among historians. Plans will cut the dept by one quarter.

Lincoln History is v. successful. This should not be happening to historians who excel and perform great service for their university.

Particularly admire monument on n wall chancel to John Heneage, died 1530 and wive. Purbeck marble tomb chest with unusual, cusped decoration. Back wall with brass effigies of Heneage & wives kneeling at prieu-dieu with inscriptions issuing from mouths. Low arch & cresting above.
