Sometimes the most impactful thing you can do in the fight for clean water is to show someone else why you're fighting to protect this precious resource.

So, we hope you're out just enjoying the resource like us this weekend. Happy Easter from our family to yours.

The army corps of engineers will continue high-volume Lake Okeechobee discharges to the east and west coasts through March 29, followed by a 2-week rest period intended to bring salinity levels back up in the Caloosahatchee and St. Lucie Estuaries.

The political pressure we created on social media, the phone calls to representatives, and all the efforts in spreading awareness is what helped make sure this bill didn't pass 🙌

Jake, Blake and Packet paddle boarded across the ENTIRE state, a 150-mile journey beginning in Stuart, heading across Lake Okeechobee and ending on Fort Myers Beach. This was such a unique way to raise awareness for south Florida's water quality crisis 🙌

Here's an update from Capt. Tyler Carner on the water quality conditions we're seeing at the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River.

And stay tuned for updates on the status of the “Toxic Spill Bill” from our post yesterday—we’ll keep you updated on that as we get more details.

The “Toxic Spill Bill” is still out there and still a threat.

There haven’t been any amendments filed at the time of this posting, and the bill still hasn’t been heard on the floor of the House (which is a good thing). But we’re keeping an eye on it and we’ll keep you updated.

The sneaky 'Toxic Spill Bill' (SB 738/HB 789) affects EVERY SINGLE person in Florida, stripping legal rights from citizens who may have been harmed by pollution.

It protects big-time polluters and punishes hard-working people. Time to trash it 🗑 Florida Senate Florida House of Representatives

Two weeks into high-volume Lake O discharges and the difference downstream is already heartbreaking. Meanwhile, while our coasts are getting slammed with discharges, there’s a bad bill being proposed in Tallahassee.

As we’re dealing with damaging Lake O discharges, there are games going on in Tallahassee.

This bill is toxic by its very nature, limiting the liability of polluters in the event of a toxic spill.

We’re urging the Florida House NOT TO HEAR this bill.

High-volume discharges started this morning, sending damaging amounts of polluted water to both coasts. Until major restoration projects to store, clean, and send this water south to the Everglades are completed, these discharges will still be a threat.
