On this day, we pause to reflect on the painful history of residential schools, honour survivors and their families, and listen to their stories so we might better understand the inter-generational impacts that the residential school system has had on Indigenous Peoples.

October 3rd was declared Atlantic Salmon Conservation Day in Fredericton, NB by the mayor. As part of the ceremonies, CRI Director Dr. Jen Lento presented CRI PhD student Ryan Hill with the Bud and Peggy Bird Scholarship for his research on upstream passage solutions for salmon.
