Happy first birthday to Kent's own baby white elephant: #Thanet Parkway railway station. A snip at just ยฃ40-45 million (reports vary), of which Kent County Council apparently put up some ยฃ6 million of YOUR money. Remember that when your library or children's centre is closed.

๐Ÿ“ท We have installed three new CCTV cameras in fly-tipping hotspots, in Sheerness and Sittingbourne, to catch illegal waste carriers in the act. The cameras are monitored 24/7 by our CCTV control room, who will help document the evidence the cameras gather.

The council met last night to discuss the application for 1600 houses on St John's College, Cambridge grade 1 farmland. Birchington councillors and residents spoke eloquently against the application. Great turnout of campaigners show we stand against houses on farmland! #FoodSecurity

Absolutely wonderful news for Birchington. The motion to โ€˜defer and delegateโ€™ the application for 1600 houses was REFUSED by a large majority last night. We wait to see what happens next but this is a brilliant stand against the march of unaffordable development on farmland!!
