More good data on females in concussion/PCS! Despite higher initial symptom severity and VOMS scores compared to males, female NCAA athletes do not take longer to recover from mTBI. Proper rehab is proper rehab.

Microstructural changes were found in athletes with a history of concussion (mTBI). However, the control group was 'healthy.' Other data shows that better comparisons would come from orthopedic injury (vs. healthy). We'd be cautious with the results.

DTI studies can confuse the public concerning mTBI diagnosis and complications. This study adds to the evidence that we cannot put much weight on DTI (yet?). Compared to orthopedic injury and PTSD, the associations of DTI changes & mTBI became weak.

This study found that ~70% of athletes were asymptomatic on pre-season concussion baseline testing. Which means 30% of athletes WERE symptomatic. With baseline testing, we know who these athletes are so that we can best manage their RTP.
