.CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire #76IC [Final] The closure on Hwy. 76 remains in place and the scene has been turned over to CHP.

.CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire is at scene of a vehicle over the side off Hwy. 76 near Rice Canyon. 76 is closed down due to power lines being down across the road. The closure is from Rice Canyon to Pala Mesa Road. 1 patient was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. #76IC

Additional resources have been requested to assist with the rescue near Pine Valley due to heavy snow. CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire is currently in Unified Command with U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Border Patrol, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, and CA. Civil Air Patrol.

.CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire firefighters are assisting with search efforts for a military helicopter reported missing in the area north of Interstate 8 & Kitchen Creek Road, located southeast of Pine Valley. Multiple agencies are searching the area covered in snow making it hard to access.

With forecasters predicting more heavy rains across San Diego County today and Tuesday, the County and CAL FIRE continue to offer free sand and bags to people in unincorporated communities.

Please call ahead to double-check availability and bring a shovel to fill your bags.

Do not drive or walk in flooded waters. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that over half of all flood-related drownings occur when a vehicle is driven into hazardous flood water.

Never drive around the barriers blocking a flooded road.
