That’s a massive over-simplification of what took place.

1) Finding 500 funding totally different than full season.
2) Abel didn’t want to put family company on car unless Jacob running. Decided that would be distraction from Indy NXT title push.
3) Expected new car to be ready,…

As I laid out in the below story this week, should Arrow McLaren split the No. 6 the rest of the year between Ilott & Pourchaire, at minimum Theo would have to run oval doubleheader weekends at Iowa & Milwaukee -- likely the reason for Monday's test. indystar.com/story/sports/m…

NEWS: According to the team, Théo Pourchaire will undergo his initial NTT INDYCAR SERIES oval test Monday at WWT Raceway with Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team.

Team says it is still working to confirm who (or what combo of drivers) will drive the No. 6 Chevy for the remainder of the 2024 season.

So, we’re clearly going *there* this in F1’s latest trip to America.

I bet 16th & Georgetown is just thrilled. youtube.com/watch?v=3Ui4Kx…

Again with 34 entries, only one Indy 500 entry will be sent home this month.

The list of one-off is stout (Sato, Marco, Helio, RHR, Daly, Larson & ECR rookie Rasmussen).

Could we again see a full-time entry sent home this month? indystar.com/story/sports/m…

Abel was gunning for the 2 full-time Chevy leases awarded to Prema & now doesn't see a path to full-time status, a sign NTT INDYCAR SERIES has hit its ceiling w/o a 3rd OEM.

With 25 chartered cars, '25 seems set to to be CGR vs. Prema for spots 26 & 27 each race. indystar.com/story/sports/m…

Having ordered a brand-new chassis 7 months ago, that ABEL Motorsports was only recently able to even get it in for a body fit is only one example of a growingly concerning NTT INDYCAR SERIES parts delay that's having multi-pronged effects on the paddock. indystar.com/story/sports/m…

As recent as weeks ago Bill Abel had 2 reasonable shots at an Indy 500 return: a driver & car needing a sponsor; & a car w/ several drivers willing to put pen to paper.

Now at their self-imposed deadline, ABEL Motorsports won't make a long-assumed return. indystar.com/story/sports/m…

Was told on the grid at Barber that Episode 2 had long been shipped off before the Penske drama came to light and that even Episode 3 might only feature a tease at the end.

Despite this promo, would be surprised to see that as part of tonight’s episode.

Rahal believes a bigger focus should be put towards fixing the parts shortage issues plaguing the paddock before having new teams join the series.

That '500k people/episode' metric was less than a month after Season 1's finale debut. I imagine 10+ months later with VICE, CW, Paramount+ & Netflix, that's is much, much higher.

You simply can't tell me YouTube would've been better than a combo of streaming & over-the-air TV.

'If that would've happened to our team, (Andretti Global COO) Rob Edwards would've been let go immediately.

IndyCar officials said last year when you included streaming, each episode was seen by roughly 500k people (meaning total, not the typical “avg during the broadcast” metric).

More than 1/2 of S1 viewers were core CW/VICE audience (so much younger than the avg IndyCar fan).
