Vocation is not an identity. You are not your work. You are not your job title.

You are not your performance. In good times, or bad. In wins, or losses. In big awards, or bankruptcy.

You are valuable. Nothing else needed.

Obvious, but under-appreciated: If you'd like to do a lot of something, you have to do one of that something first. And, that first thing has to work.

Don't try to run a marathon, try a mile.
Don't try to build a holdco, buy a business.

Perform first to earn the bigger pursuit.
