My bestest boy Fido had to leave this world on Monday. He was 19 years 11 months and 17 days. The prince of pooches and my little soulmate. I loved him so much and his loss is beyond painful. Hug your furry ones tight and be kind to all who you love. Hoping he is with Pancetta 🌈

Handsome Howie is back-no fault of his-& looking for a furever 🏡 preferably one w/a yard.
Howie is part Rottie & Siberian husky, so he may be a larger boy.
He is smart n active & breezed through puppy training!
He is house trained, crate trained, dog, kitty & kid friendly!

It’s been a huge clean up job. You won’t believe it but those maggots were living in his ear. 3x that amount were cleaned out.

With all the ticks dead there was a massive operation to clean him up today and get him feeling good… (3/6)

One of his biggest problems were the blood sucking ticks. I think there were about 1000. We gave him the medicines yesterday. There were so many they made him anemic.

He also got a bunch of other antibiotics and meds to give him a boost (2/6)

24 hours ago it was nearly all over for Mr Big. He was forgotten, alone and on the way out.

He still has some recovering to do but Mr Big now has food, medicines, shelter and love.

More importantly he has dignity back. We love you Mr Big (6/6)

We got him a new bandana on to make him look even better.

The most amazing thing about Mr Big is his nature. He is the softest most gentle boy there ever was. He always wants to be as close to people as possible. (5/6)

Nobody could have predicted how things would turn out for this dog.

24 hours ago he was alone close to death in a disused toilet staring at the wall.

It’s safe to say that Mr Big has grasped his second chance in life… (1/6) 🧵

Rusty is probably the kindest dog I’ve ever met…

🔓 Was chained up for first 14 months of his life

📆 Has been free and with us for 2 months

🐕 He is already our therapy dog at the shelter for other dogs in need. He took on the role himself

🧵 He brought Stella out her

Mr Big had about 500 blood sucking ticks on him. They are between his toes, in his ears and even on his ass. They are literally sucking his life away.

He also has a hole in his ear which has maggots in it. The smell was the worst I’ve ever experienced (3/6)

All I knew was that he was in a temple (they often get dumped there). We were about to give up but found him in an old toilet hiding from the heat. He’s a big boy so the big duvet is for protection as just don’t know him.

He had given up on life and here is why… (2/6)

It’s not super expensive to treat Mr Big (probably about $100 all in) but he was obviously bought as a breed dog at some stage. Now that he’s sick he was just dumped out.

The vets got him started on meds and he is incredibly anemic making him weak. Otherwise good (4/6)

We can’t heal Mr Big in a day but give us a week and we’ll turn that frown upside down.

He’s a big soft natured big goofy boy. He was very down on his luck and would have died soon in that toilet.

Mr Big was down but he’s not out 🥊 (6/6)

Mr Big was a very very good patient. He’s had baths and his ear cleaned out. He’ll need a couple of vet visits as well as lots of rest, good food and medicines.

The ticks are all dead now thanks to the meds. That relief alone must be huge (5/6)
