Family violence agencies are continually re-applying for their funding, making it hard to retain staff or to speak bravely on policy issues. It would cost governments nothing to change this, and everyone would win.

Affordable and accessible early childhood education is critical for growing the economy and enabling women to work. Without this, we can't unlock the economic powerhouse women can be for our economy. We should do it in this budget, not next.

My thoughts on teaching today. Surprisingly not all children feel safe in saying “I don’t understand.” “I don’t get it.” “This is too hard.” We need to start on the first day of Prep creating a climate in the classroom where children feel confident about asking for help. 💕

The 5 regrets of people near death..

1. I wish I'd been truer to myself, not the expectations of others.
2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.
3. I wish I'd shared my feelings more.
4. I wish I’d stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish I’d let myself be happier.

Such a wake up!

Gendered violence has two elements.

1) Cultural, patriarchal attitudes where women are disrespected as inferior/ or property.

..and

2) Personality factors including narcissistic entitlement, immaturity, non-coping with relationship loss.

We need to walk and chew gum.

Ban gambling advertising. Put age verification on online p*orn. Two levers that the government could pull now. These are clear drivers of violence. smh.com.au/politics/feder…

When I play nice with a narcissist, it’s not because I anticipate respect. It’s more like not arguing with a drunk.

Women who struggle with abandonment get labelled with Borderline Personality Disorder. Men get lauded as ‘driven too far’. Our mental health system is sick.

No More: National Rallies Against Violence are happening across the weekend.
I hope we hope we see a huge turnout by allies because women are tired of being unsafe, tired of asking men to stop killing us & tired of asking the government to appropriately fund & resource services.

The more narcissistic someone is, the more boring I become. I’m not insulted, or impressed, or amused, or provoked, or flattered.. until they eventually move on. I can be pretty boring when I want.
