Yesterday, Rural Affairs and Islands Committee gathered for a follow-up inquiry session into salmon farming in Scotland. We would like to thank John Aitchison of Coastal Communities Network (CCN) for making important points about the lack of progress on mortalities and salmon welfare.

The non-lethal measures that were trialled in this case was to tie silver ribbon to the chimneys most of which blew away a few days later. These nesting gulls may be a nuisance to some but that is not a licensable reason to destroy the nests of an amber listed species.
