Since poetry seems to be trending let me tell this short anecdote.
Me (a Paddy immigrant) to my kid's middle school teacher years ago: 'What's the poetry curriculum in this school?
Teaching (looking confused): 'Erm... I think we read a poem in the Spring quarter.
