Go and give money to Resonance FM –– consistently the most interesting radio station in London, to which my bedroom radio is locked, and an incubator for hundreds of brilliant projects. It keeps the good London alive and out of the jaws of blandness and conformity. It is a gem.
Immensely enjoyed speaking with Dr. Joanna Abeyie MBE Lucy Pilkington Marcus Ryder shaminder nahal & Miranda Wayland on the state of British broadcasting in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. Thanks to Royal Television Society & Angela Ferreira ( A Joy Media) for organising a scintillating (& occasionally fiery) debate.
Me & Jonathan Nunn enjoyed a raucous hour on Cursed Objects talking about the Nineties, New Labour & the Naked Chef, with delicious Dan Hancox & Kasia Tee. The only podcast to mention both Fredric Jameson & Toploader’s seminal debut album Onka’s Big Moka open.spotify.com/episode/0WuBMj…

How wonderful to see this published in full! I went to the CLR James archive in Dalston last year after Mike Dibb tipped me off about the existence of the transcript. Grateful he gave me permission to republish in Representology + delighted the NYRB & Phoebe went ahead with this
