After 14 years of failure, it's a bleak future we're talking about.

Let's remember that this is the party that has employed suspected Chinese spies and failed the armed forces in a Cyberattack after disregarding security advice.

... but still has the guts to paint the opposition as a threat to national security.

Sunak is desperate to reframe this election as past v future, rather than Labour v Tory.

But this might be quite risky. A lot of Tory voters (those few that are left) tend to prefer the past to the future...

I watched, slack-jawed, as Sunak complained about others 'seeking to divide' and 'cancel culture', then proceeded to suggest that anyone who disagrees with him on any issue is basically terrorist-adjascent. Which, presumably, includes all his MPs, since they agree on nothing.

WHAT THEY WON'T TELL YOU: Wages grew by 3.7 points in nominal terms, but only by 2.3 points in real terms.

Almost two years of inflation is still outpacing wages, which has led to the steepest fall in living standards for a generation.
