Big things are expected of Saluki Football TE Aidan Quinn (@AJQuinn12) this fall. The 6-foot-1, 226-pound senior is a force with both his blocking & receiving. Quinn caught 27 passes for 348 yards & 3 TDs last season, including 5 catches for 85 yards & a TD in the FCS playoffs.

In 1986, Eastern Illinois Football became the first school to have a quarterback with 10,000 career yards passing (Sean Payton) & a running back (Chris 'Poke' Cobb) with 5,000 career rushing yards.

Excluding the COVID-19 spring season, the last non-transfer QB to lead Illinois State in passing was Jake Kolbe (2016-17). The Redbirds' recent passing leaders were transfers Brady Davis from Memphis (2018-19) and Zack Annexstad from Minnesota (2022-23).

Over the past 3 seasons, Southern Illinois is No. 2 in the Missouri Valley with 108 sacks. Only North Dakota State has more sacks (125) since 2021 than the Salukis. Illinois State ranks 4th with 91.

The #UFL2024 kicks off today with former Saluki Football CB Madre Harper suiting up for the Birmingham Stallions. Harper appeared in 21 games, making 15 starts, in two seasons with the Salukis. He registered 88 tackles, 18 pass breakups, 2 interceptions & a forced fumble.
