Ski jumps don't have curves. The IBR’s Vancouver bridge approach will be north facing with a -4% grade and S-curve. It will be often covered with ice from freezing rain, fog, or snow. A 40-ton semi-truck cannot make IBR’s -4% icy curves. Immersed Tunnel safer. FMCSA

Greg Johnson was repeatedly told for 2 years that excavation & dredging estimates were wildly inflated. A Public Disclosure Request forced, “We readily admit we made a mistake.” Mr. Johnson will be remined until fraudulent IBR report is retracted, & independent study completed.

Better Economics! Build an Immersed Tunnel for traffic. Repurpose current I-5 bridges for light rail and bike/pedestrian path, saving $250 million. Rep. Perez is worried about $40,000 for bridge grease. IBR is spending $200,000,000 on consultants to grease its freeway expansion.

Beware of IBR bearing gifts. C-TRAN On IBR’s bridge a crosswind will blow greater than 60mph 175 hours/year. Double-decker buses will be 3 feet from the left guardrail. Good chance a bus with 80 riders will plunge into the Columbia River or drop onto downtown Vancouver.

The IBR recent bike ramp graphic shows an impossibly difficult 90-foot climb at 7.5% grade on a giant 200’ dia. spiral. (Grade scaled from IBR graphic). A more realistic ramp of 4% grade on a smaller footprint would still be a challenging 90-foot climb for an average cyclist.

A Columbia River Immersed Tunnel is a less costly & more earthquake resilience solution than IBR’s bridge. USCGPacificNorthwest The S.F. Bay Bridge, designed for earthquake resilience, had a massive cost overrun, from $250 million to $6.5 billion. Bloomberg: bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
