Over a month ago, I had a client who got an offer in the NHS. They were done with everything, just one last check with recent employer for reference.

This is total wickedness. He/she could have simply declined to write the reference letter.

A previous employer once told me that he’ll only write a reference letter for me if I agree to volunteer with his organisation as a means of giving back the experience I’d gain. Pathetic!
