Dante Gabriel Rossetti died on this day 9th April 1882. Beata Beatrix (Blessed Beatrice) was unfinished at the time of his death, the background was completed by Ford Madox Brown. Rossetti modelled Beatrice after his late wife the artist & model Elizabeth Siddal who died in 1862.
