6 May 1913 | A German Jewish woman, Bertha Beit, (nee Abrahams) was born in Dornum in Lower Saxony. During the war she lived in Hamburg.

In 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz . She did not survive.

6 May 1920 | A Czech Jewish woman, Ilsa Kohnová, was born.

She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt Ghetto on 6 September 1943.
She did not survive.

5 May 1981 | Jewish man, Meyer Dickman, was born in Russia. He emigrated to Norway. A merchant.

He arrived at #Auschwitz on 1 December 1942 and was murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection.

I would really suggest everyone has a read of Auschwitz Memorial to learn about the stories of some of the people who lost their lives in the holocaust. I have so much still to learn but I’m trying to educate myself everyday and hope you guys do the same.

5 May 1878 | Czech Jewish woman, Otilie Bernerová, was born in Prague.

She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt ghetto on 15 December 1943. She was registered and place in the family camp for Jews deported from this ghetto. She did not survive.

5 May 1945 | The US Army soldiers liberated the German concentration camp complex Mauthausen-Gusen. Between 1938-45 over 190,000 people were imprisoned there. At least 90,000 of them were killed, including some 28,000 Poles.

5 May 1940 | Dutch Jewish boy, Isaak Melamed, was born in Enschede.

He was deported to #Auschwitz from #Westerbork in October 1942. He was murdered in a gas chamber right after arrival selection.

In April the Auschwitz Memorial account lost 4,119 followers. As you can see, such information excites trolls, deniers, and other similar anonymous accounts.
