The #TRAILS2024 team visited the Classic #Maya center of Uxbenká today! Uxbenka is ~12km SW of Lubaantun but was founded centuries earlier. During survey we collect ceramics for chronology building of the greater Lubaantun community. #NSFstories @KurlyTlapoyawa Alana Pengilley

Last week at the Ins't of Archaeology Belize Archaeology Symposium 🇧🇿 I presented on human-environment interactions, adaptations, & #sustainability among Classic Maya cities and modern Maya communities. I use #lidar data to assess differences in social organization in varying landscapes.
