I have to admit, motivating my own children to read is an ongoing battle. Let's face it, kids have so many on-demand distractions these days. 10yo asked whether we could buy Warrior Cats by @KatieThreeCats, as recommended by her school mate, so here we go! It looks fab! 😺

It’s Roald Dahl Story Day! Today we celebrate our favourite Roald Dahl stories and characters with our fans all over the world.

Lovely time today at the gorgeous House of Books and Friends book shop in Manchester meeting the wonderful Miriam Margolyes. What an absolute legend she is! 💜

My third rejection for my picture book manuscripts arrived. I think I'd better write some more stories... ✍🏼

Today's treasures picked up from House of Books and Friends for the 10 year old (who is actually called Tilda) and the 14 year old. There's nowt better than new books! 📚

My youngest daughter's half term Waterstones purchase. Love that she still gets so much joy from picture books at age 11. Mind you, I'm 44 and I get just as much joy (if not more!) #PictureBooks

Husband just laughed at my choice of bedtime reading. Rude! I love kids books, I love history and I particularly love Vikings. Especially vicious ones. What's not to love?!
