There are some really great accessibility trainings, I was being dramatic earlier. There's a specific gap for accessibility testing. I feel frustrated that a lot it you have to learn on your own in bits and pieces. Nothing I've found so far feels quite comprehensive.

I don't really use Instagram anymore but used to A LOT back when i was teaching yoga. I just spent 3 days archiving 1000 pictures and left 3 pictures of the moon up.
It feels like a weight has been lifted haha. The old me is gone.

I told chatGPT to rewrite an accessibility article i wrote to make it sound more conversational like I was “talking to a best friend' and the result made me cringe so hard I had to close my laptop and take a walk outside.

even when im doing nothing, i am doing too much. help.

Serious question. when will i ever stop feeling tired?

Lets start day 1 of #100daysofa11y w the most basic of basic accessibility tips.
Make sure everyone can perceive your content using the senses they have available.
Put alt text on your photos for those who cant see it.
Use captions for videos for those who cant hear it.
I beg.

To get back in the groove of posting on social media after a long needed hiatus I'm gonna do round 3 of #100daysofa11y !
This time around ill be doing more than just reciting WCAG guidelines. I'll also be dropping accessibility tips of my own I've learned in the past 3 years.

I've wanted to create a thourough accessibility learning course for a long time. I love to teach. But I was too busy just trying to survive to find the time to make something I was proud of.
That ends now. I'm doing it!

I think I'm going to start betting on myself and make the things I want to make for real.
Im tired of not being able to find good, to the point, thorough resources for accessibility.
I'm just going to make them myself and share them w the community.

Web accessibility is not a charity. It is a human right.

Accessibility burnout is real bc it feels like you're screaming into an empty void sometimes, and nothing changes.
Then when they want to change it for the better, they want you to do it for free.
Just venting a lil, but sheesh!

Theres a big problem in accessibility where so many of us do this from our hearts and want to help make the web a better place FOR REAL.

It may make us easy marks for those looking to take advantage of our time and expertise bc we just want things to work.

It makes me feel overwhelmed when a profitable company asks for accessibility help but doesn't want to provide payment for the time it takes to do an audit. Im valuable enough to ask for help, but not valuable enough to get compensated for my time? idk that doesnt add up for me.

I love helping people!
But im starting to see an uptick of ppl reaching out asking me to do free work. I want to help but I dont have the time to audit or help you check your work for an audit youre getting paid to do (unless it's for a stream that everyone can benefit from).
