As we say every year: polling Black people long before an election & hollering about Biden's or Democrats' loss of Black support misunderstands the Black vote. Black voters aren't all lockstep Dems. They solidify to the Dem as election day nears, learn more & examine candidates.

It’s official! Matt Hildreth is taking a leave of absence to join the Kamala Harris/Tim Walz campaign. They couldn’t have picked a better thought leader and organizer to run their rural engagement program. We wish him the best! On to November!

The New York Times said yesterday that “Black Voters Drift from Democrats, Imperiling Harris’s Bid.” But today’s CBS News poll shows Kamala Harris getting the exact same numbers from Black voters that Biden got in 2020. And Biden won. Don’t obsess on the polls, folks. Just vote.

We get questions on polls showing Black voters moving to Trump. Our answer: Unlikely but let's wait to election day to see. Same questions in 2016 & 2020 and what happened? Black voters consolidated to the Democrat over time. Early, small sample polls aren't a good indicator.
